The Tempe Educational Consortium's Regional Training Center (RTC) provides training and technical assistance to Public School Districts and Charter Schools in Maricopa, Gila and Northern Pinal Counties in the use of administrative and instructional technologies.

The goal of the Consortium, in concert with the state's other three RTCs, is to establish, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive technology-training program to meet the needs of Arizona's K-12 system. As a part of that mission, the Tempe RTC carries out technology-related initiatives for the Arizona Department of Education, from which the project's annual funding is derived.

The Tempe RTC is housed off-campus, near the ASU Main Campus, and is staffed by highly trained Instructional Specialist Coordinators who are also experienced classroom instructors. They provide a multitude of workshops and maintain a Help Desk. As a project of TBLR, the Tempe RTC also has a staff member who implements a WorldCom Foundation grant (Marcopolo) to train Arizona teachers in the integration of high-quality Internet content for the classroom.
