The e-Learning Network will supply a tremendous demand for qualified professionals by providing 100,000 adult learners with low cost, anytime, anywhere quality networking instruction. Supported by the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education (FIPSE) Learning Anytime Anywhere Program (LAAP), this project will design, develop, implement, evaluate, disseminate, and support a national online training program. The instruction provided will prepare adult learners for two existing certification examinations, enabling them to begin or advance rewarding careers in networking. The project curriculum incorporates text, graphics, video vignettes, animations, simulations, multiple assessment formats, an implementation handbook, and learner support materials. The development process used for these courses includes researching subject matter for content development; outlining the scope and sequence of courses; writing learning objectives and content; determining the type of multimedia that will best demonstrate the instruction; conducting usability tests; evaluating the effectiveness of the courses with the target population; and preparing the final product for dissemination.
